Why I Wrote In Harmony As An Antiracism Antidiscrimination Song
Our song In Harmony releases on Spotify, the biggest music streaming platform today on October 14, 2022 (it is also being released on Amazon Music and Apple Music among others). I wrote about the benefits of being on Spotify in my last post so you can catch up there if you missed it as listening to In Harmony on there will be the best way to listen to our song with the best sound quality as we have no intentions on putting it on a physical medium like CD and the sound quality will be better on a music streaming platform compared to YouTube.
This song is one about antiracism and antidiscrimination and I wanted to shoot a video that properly describes why I wrote such a song in the first place. Although this song is being released during a time when we have a major war conflict happening in Ukraine and is therefore relevant, I wrote In Harmony way before the Russia Ukraine war ever even started as you can see the lyrics video here to see the words I wrote as you hear the song.
When I wrote the song lyrics, it was a response to what I saw happening around the world. There were conflicts in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine as well as other problems in the Middle East region. There were conflicts in Africa as well as between the two Koreas which draws in Japan and the US. There were tensions between China and Taiwan along with bad things happening in Myanmar. All of these conflicts are still happening today.
In North America, people were losing their lives from hate crimes and shootings. Even in Canada where I live, there were also people losing their lives from hate crimes even though Canada is suppose to be a peaceful and culturally diverse country. Unfortunately these have not changed as well as we’ve had more people suffer just because they were different.
The world back then when I wrote In Harmony and even long before that was not at a good place. Fast forward to today with all the wonderful high technology we have in our world we still continue to not be in a good place with respect to human conflicts both abroad and in our own neighbourhoods.
This is why I wrote In Harmony.
The six other singers who helped me record In Harmony all wanted to do their little contribution in helping spread antiracism and antidiscrimination. We all believe that the messages contained in the song are important for others to hear about.
Now that In Harmony is released on Spotify, we humbly ask that you go there to listen to our song. If you like it as well as the its messages, please share the song with others in order to give the antiracism and antidiscrimination messages an opportunity to have some impact on people. By doing this hopefully we can all help make our world become a little bit better. You can listen to the song right here below too if you are a Spotify account holder (all others will hear a preview).
If you have playlists set up on your Spotify account, please add In Harmony to one or consider creating a new playlist to include the song.
The main webpage for this song along with its official music video is at the In Harmony webpage.
