Diverse Group Of Scuba Divers Discover Vietnamese Pho

Thought that I would share a great example of #diversity and #multicultural success today. One of the recreational activities I do is run a scuba diving group and we dive each weekend. This past Saturday was a cool example of what Unity Power Force advocates about anti-racism.

We had four guys from different backgrounds; two Asians, one Indian and one Caucasian all getting together to do a common activity which in this case was scuba diving. We were at Humber Bay West on the west end of Toronto. The weather kicked in a sudden cold spell resulting in the water temperature of only 5 to 7 C degrees (depending on whose dive computer was reading the water temperature). In any case, the water was COLD!

We made it through our dive safely while enjoying the increased visibility in the water that often comes with lower temperatures. But when we came out of the water and out of our diving suits, it was agreed that it was time to get warmed up.

One of the best ways to do that especially after a cold scuba dive is to go to a Vietnamese restaurant for some steaming hot Vietnamese pho which is basically a large bowl of hearty noodle soup. As we warmed up with our pho, of course we chatted about scuba diving.

This post diving activity at the restaurant extended our social time together and all of us agreed that this was a great addition to our usual dive days. More importantly is that our time together shows just how much fun people can have when they live a life embracing #antiracism and #antidiscrimination which is what we do here at Unity Power Force.
