Development Of In Harmony Part 7 – Keyboard Playing Bass
Hope you caught Part 6 of our Development of In Harmony video series where I should you the electric guitars used in the recording of our antiracism song. In this Part 7, I hope to clear up a bit of a mystery if your eyes were sharp when you watched the music video of In Harmony (which you can see right at our homepage).
During certain sections of the song, you might have noticed my hand playing a keyboard while you clearly hear a bass guitar sound. In fact this happens during similar sections of the tune and I’m sure some folks might have thought that the music video was shot in error since a bass guitar was expected to be seen rather than a keyboard.
Well it turns out that the keyboard did in fact play the bass lines in not only In Harmony but all of our upcoming songs already recorded. I just prefer to use a keyboard to play bass rather than play a bass guitar and these days the bass sounds I can get through a keyboard are absolutely amazing. Actually the bass sounds are sampled from real bass guitars so they should be good.
Here’s a short video which shows one of the parts from In Harmony where you can hear and see the keyboard bass in action.
