Guitar Video Shorts August/September 2023 Recap

Guitar Video Shorts August/September 2023 Recap

Ever since introducing our new element of our video shorts with me playing small parts of cover songs I have loved over the years on guitar, the reception has been great, especially on our YouTube channel. Some of these video shorts have reached around 2,000 or more views!

It’s always interesting to see which of these video shorts will do well as far as view counts go as some have really caught me by surprise. What I’ve done here is pull together all the video shorts with guitars on this single post from the very first one to the end of September.

To make things even easier since some of you might have different musical tastes, I’ve separated all these video shorts by musical style the best I could so you can watch specific genres if you want or watch them all again – your choice. I’ve even added some brief comments about each video short song to make things more interesting. But the different musical styles below just shows the range of music I love.

So give the guitar video shorts below another spin as I hope they will entertain you for a bit. I’ll post another recap of video shorts next month.

Pop Rock

My first ever concert was seeing Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Yup, I had a crush on Pat Benetar when I was a teen
Probably my favourite Elton John song
Foreigner’s first two or three albums were so good and I did see their lead singer Lou Gramm in concert at the CNE bandshell one summer singing all the Foreigner hits
Every kid learning to play guitar wanted to play this song
All of us rockers were so surprised when Michael Jackson came out with this song

Classic Rock & Pop

Had to do at least one from The Rolling Stones and I’ve seen them in concert just once many years ago
I actually brought a Beatles record to my grade 2 ‘Show & Tell’!
This is one of the coolest guitar riffs ever!
Sadly I never did see Queen live but Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest rock performers ever, made me accept the LGBTQ community
A very different but classic guitar riff from Eric Clapton and I actually played this song with my band during my university years

Hard Rock Heavy Metal & Punk Rock

Aerosmith was one of favourite bands in high school and I’ve seen them live about three times
All time best party rock band in my opinion and I saw them in concert with Axl Rose as lead singer
KISS was my favourite band in high school and I’ve seen them in concert three times
Another classic rock guitar riff
ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons showed me that it’s totally possible to dance to a rock guitar
Lead singer Rob Halford of Judas Priest also played a factor in making me accept the LGBTQ community
Just pure fun from the Ramones
I was the first kid in my neighbourhood to get Van Halen’s debut album
Green Day showed that punk rock can indeed have widespread appeal
Here’s the first one from my all time favourite band Def Leppard

New Wave & Alternative Rock

One of the most fun songs ever
Another unforgettable guitar riff this time from the alternative rock world
The Police showed me a different sound apart from the usual rock guitar I was listening and playing. Also, this particular video short got the most views at over 3,300 on YouTube which was a huge surprise as I never thought that this one would out perform the other clips.

I hope you find all the video shorts above entertaining and Unity Power Force thanks you for watching. Now if you want to hear more original music from Unity Power Force, don’t forget to check out our new song Love Has Left Me.
