I apologize if this guitar video shorts recap was delayed but I was not in the right mind in January taking care of my little dog Roxie who was at the end stages of her life and I completely forgot to compile these. But here it is for January and you’ll notice that I played quite a few songs from bands that I did not cover before in previous months. Hope you caught the guitar recap for December.
Hard Rock
Started 2024 with a bang with this iconic hard rock guitar intro by Guns N’ Roses – had to practise this one quite a lot before I got it right
Another song from glam hard rock band The Cult whom I saw live once when they opened up for either Def Leppard or Aerosmith in Montreal (don’t quite remember which one)
One of my many favourites by ACDC and this one I’ve always wanted to play
My first song from one of the most successful Canadian rock bands Nickelback
My first song by The Scorpions and I actually played this same song live with my band during my university years – even played it at my old high school
Pop Rock& Punk Pop Rock
Huey Lewis and the News was such a fun band and I think this is still their best song
One of the classic hits by one of the biggest rock bands Bon Jovi
Another one from ZZ Top, a band that I saw in concert live twice
Always liked Steve Stevens, the guitar player for Billy Idol
A great Canadian pop rock band which I finally saw live in a free outdoor concert in Oakville just a few years ago way past their prime but they still sounded great
I’ve always loved this song by this one hit wonder band and it’s nice to still hit it on the radio sometimes
This band always proved that you can most certainly dance to rock
My first song here by The Doobie Brothers and won’t be my last
Classic Pop & Rock
I saw Heart live in concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas but without Nancy Wilson (she was ill)
One of my favourite acoustic guitar songs to perform
I’ve seen Aerosmith live in concert three times as I’ve been a fan since high school years
This Beatles song is in my opinion one of the greatest love song ballads of all time
